We just got back from family time at the NICU. Caleb is making great strides today. I was in this morning for his 11am feeding and talked with his NNP and she agreed to letting him try a bottle at his 8pm feeding.
He took 7cc of his 22cc feeding, they aloud him to try the bottle for 30min and anything after that any that was left they did the gravity drop into the feeding tube. Towards the end of the 30min he was getting tired and fell asleep. The nurses were very happy at what he took, and it is a good starting point.
They weighed him again tonight and he is up to 1247 grams, which is 2lbs 12ounces. we are 1 ounce shy of his birth weight!!
His labs came back and his platelets are almost back to normal, and billirubin is down to 5.2, so no more billilights!
God is good!!! We contuine to pray for contuined wieght gain over the next few days and for the bottle feeding to go well and for him to take more and more from the bottle!
